Weltrekord: Der längste Business Pitch der Welt

The current record is 28 hours and 51 minutes. If they get 28 hours and 52 minutes, they have the record. We are now beginning the world record attempt – we’re making the longest business pitch marathon in the world. We’ll aim to have start-ups present themselves to renowned major investors for 30 hours You can’t get such a varied insight into the German start-up scene in such a short time anywhere else. That’s why it was the right step to participate here today. The greatest challenge will be to stay awake – especially in the period between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Well, I think that if you just don’t stop talking, you won’t fall asleep, and that’s my strategy today. I had very good feedback. I also received applause after my pitch, which I was very pleased about, of course. So, it all went excellently. I’m happy. I really am pleasantly surprised by the event. There’s a dynamic atmosphere, the event is well attended and very international. We think it’s very interesting. It was really cool. It was fun and I’m always pleased when it’s possible to witness and participate in slightly crazy activities. So, I think it’s great that there are initiatives like this. And I enjoy taking part. I think really well. They asked a lot of very good questions. It was clear that they were interested and, well, one of the investors is completely in our sector, and gave us a business card straight away. Was really nice. This also has an outward effect. I think it’s a fantastic idea and they are also showing the potential we have here in the region, of course. If Metropolis Ruhr can set this world record, it would make me very proud. Yes, the feedback was really positive, and I have to say that although they all looked very tired, they stayed alert and also asked intelligent questions. We have been active on the start-up scene Germany-wide for around one and a half years. The Ruhr area has grown enormously in this year and a half alone. I see that as extremely positive. It was a hard night. The last few hours extremely so. It was a great team. The boys were super, the people who pitched were super and it’s good the way it is. In every respect. So many pitches, an endless number of pitches, a great many sleepless nights, a lot of adrenaline especially now at the end, where it was really touch and go again. That were fascinating 29 hours. Via the RuhrSummit and through the development in the past few years, we’ve achieved an incredible number of start-ups here. That’s why, to be perfectly honest, I never doubted personally that we’d achieve the world record. 29 hours is astounding. I’m delighted. We have a terrific start-up scene and, above all, we have such a diverse start-up scene. I think that’s just fantastic, and we simply have to emphasise this more. More people have to find out about this, and I hope that, with this world record, they will do so. I hereby confirm that the record for the longest business pitch marathon was set in Metropolis Ruhr in Germany.
